• Jolanta Wagner

  Born in 1950 in Łódź. Studied at The Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz (then The State College of Visual Arts). Graduated in 1973 under the tutorage of Prof Roman Modzelewski and Prof Maria Zielińska. Currently a Professor at her alma mater.

• Cosmetic packaging, plants, letters and geometric figures are changed into signs and symbols. Jolanta Wagner populates her works with things – faint and fragile. She draws them, paints them and builds objects and installations with them. In her drawings, she continuously inventories the objects, tidies up, creates rhythmic sets – they are her ‘diaries’, ‘notebooks’; a record of everyday life and passing time.
