• Tomasz Karabowicz

  Born in 1971 in Karczunk near Lublin. Studied at The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Graduated in 1997 under tutorage of Prof Zbigniew Gostomski.

• Portraits and still live: young men with smooth bodies and interwar knick-knacks – cut glass vases and ashtrays. Tomasz Karabowicz’s realistic representations have the coldness and precision of Art Deco and the aura of anxiety similar to the one of German artists of New Reality. In Karabowicz’s paintings, the interiors, objects and people seem alienated and the spectator is left with the impression of the oddity of existence.
