‘Painting of the colourful surfaces’ makes up a best definition of her art. Podlewska uses hardly anything but the colour on her large abstract canvases. Occasionally, she uses some outlines but never a stroke. It supposed to immerse the spectator, saturate him with the colour space and transform the canvas into a natural human habitat. The exaltation is the road to infinity in search of the absolute. Let us not forget that the paintings of her great predecessor, Mark Rothko are classified as religious art and hung in The Rothko Chapel. Podlewska’s paintings have been created for the state of contemplation.
