Dancing by the Lake

Małgorzata Czyńska Wojciech Tuleya By Małgorzata Czyńska Wojciech Tuleya

To meet the painter Julia Medyńska, we went all the way to Międzyrzecz, in the middle of summer. We were driven by unbridled curiosity. We knew very little, only that recently, after years spent in Berlin and New York, she had suddenly landed right in Międzyrzecz, that she was an actress. Everything looked very intriguing and mysterious.

Julia Medyńska

A short while earlier, Medyńska’s paintings began to appear online, at one auction or another, and Masquerade, her first solo exhibition in Poland, was just coming to an end at the Museum of the Międzyrzecz Land. Great, powerful images. We looked at them in the company of the artist in the museum’s casemate-like cellars.

A visit to her studio located in a beautiful retreat, a conversation about her professional path and creative inspirations, the artist’s inexhaustible energy, and above all her excellent paintings made us feel like explorers. We are all the more pleased and satisfied that Julia Medyńska has agreed to make her Warsaw debut at the GaleriaArt.pl.
