He works in painting, graphics, sculptures and objects. Lynch, Hasior, the Nowa Huta Group made him realise that painting can be spatial while remaining painting. He draws inspiration from art history, from the avant-garde and social realism to outsider art, from the industrial tissue of his native Łódź, and the state farm remnants in the countryside, where he spent the last year.
He works mainly in figuration, but depicting something that actually exists is merely a pretext for him to deal with his personal fears, to speak about emotions that after often rooted in childhood – and thus his depicted world resembles a childlike look at reality.
Together with Ignacy Tybor, he makes up the Tyra collective. The name suggests that the artist is a labourer of art, and that creative work requires effort and discipline.
