Paintings in interiors

The majority of the exhibited paintings would not fit in your homes. The smallest canvases are of 2 metres in height and, thus, we could merely pack thirty eight of these in the 800 square metres of the exhibition hall. Series No 25 alone consists of over 300 paintings, most of which were painted within 6 years. That means almost 50 large-format canvases a year! And at the same time Edward Dwurnik was developing his other series of paintings.

One shall not succumb to the catastrophism of renovations though – we still can be reached

Krakowskie Przedmieście, the artery which used to guarantee treacle of clients for the ART gallery is currently under construction. The view in front of the gallery is a bit surreal. Construction site or Verdun battlefield?

One shall not succumb to the catastrophism of renovations though – we still can be reached. You can park your car in the following streets: ul. Ossolińskich, ul. Trębacka or in front of the Bristol Hotel and then walk the final stretch. There are special pathways in place for pedestrians and in some placed the granite pavement has already been laid. It will be beautiful. And for the time being we have a reward for those of you who are ready to sacrifice for art and get their shoes dirty: Buy one painting, get the second one half price. This special offer lasts until the Trakt Królewski renovation is over.

In the meantime, in the foyer of the Holland Park apartment building at 17 Książęca Street there is an exhibition of Rafal Kostrzewa’s paintings. Please see the photographs below:

In October we had a show of Małgorzata Jastrzębska’s paintings in Café Kulturalna at the Teatr Dramatyczny. This was a first few canvases painted for the exhibition at the ART gallery. Jastrzębska is our latest ‘discovery’. A full series of those paintings will be shown at the ART gallery in two months. For the time being please see the photographs from Café Kulturalna:

January is a month for doing inventories. Therefore we would like to show you an inventory – a spiritual, artistic one. The ART gallery will have an exhibition of Jolanta Wagner’s drawings entitled The Inventory. Had you enjoyed Peter Greenway’s film, The Draughtsman’s Contract, you will instantly understand what Jolanta Wagner’s drawings are about.

You can also see the best pieces recently acquired by the ART gallery – by Kokoryn, Patrzyk, Kasprzyk, Łydżba…
