A veristic detail and patos vanitas – in Leszek Jasiński’s sculptures there are both extreme naturalism and a Baroque religious art tradition. Clay figure moulds astound with ugliness; they wear lipstick and often have cigarette butts hanging out. Jasiński does not idealize anything. He presents the world bluntly, or even in a caricatural way with a bit of irony and a snide.
