A beach full of people lying on colourful beach towels, a scene from a bar, a fish tank or a single vase – Darek’s subject range is huge. A motif is a pretext to “build the form with colour”. He has transformed the traditional emphasis on colour he had come across during his studies in Krakow into his own form of painting expression. From the complicated styled line of a drawing and the extensive plot he has moved on to synthetic picturing of objects. The strength of those paintings is in their colour scheme, luminosity of which is magnified by the texture of thick layers of paint.
