The majority of the exhibited paintings would not fit in your homes. The smallest canvases are of 2 metres in height and, thus, we could merely pack thirty eight of these in the 800 square metres of the exhibition hall. Series No 25 alone consists of over 300 paintings, most of which were painted within 6 years. That means almost 50 large-format canvases a year! And at the same time Edward Dwurnik was developing his other series of paintings.

High-Pressure Area by Sebastian Skoczylas

His paintings are made of colour. His artistic thermometer shows a subtle and rich colour range.

‘At first, my painting may be coolly-warm and then it may become warmly-cool or the other way round. Then there are times it can be almost totally homogeneous,’ says Sebastian. ‘What I am mostly interested in is what’s happening on the border of the warm and cool areas, and how they interact. It is where the energy of the hues is released. That’s the nature of colour’.

The exhibition in Galeria Elektor is a rare opportunity to see a greater number of Skoczylas’ works. He purposefully paints very little, once in a blue moon, since he has a regular job in an advertising agency. It’s worth going to the vernissage to see the most handsome painter related to Galeria Art.
