For those who are seeking new places, experiences and heights. For art connoisseurs and party animals. Jacek Łydżba’s exhibition in Soho Factory – the trendiest destination in Warsaw’s Praga – is an invitation to enter an energetic orbit of painting. Łydżba seduces his audience with bold colours and a repertoire of his favourite motifs. This is going to be a gathering of gorgeous female cyclists, tamed wolves and cult aeroplanes. For one evening that huge post-industrial hall will be filled with paintings and Jacek’s male and female fans. The guests will also have a chance to enjoy beer and live music.

Warsaw – wake up! Swirling colours, great hall – Darek Pala

Darek Pala, the artist until recently known mainly as a painter has entered the world of sculpture. His colourful installations have been on display in the garden of the University of Warsaw Library. To celebrate this, Galeria Art is organising an exhibition of his early paintings that date back to the times of his arrival to Warsaw, following his graduation of the Arts Academy in Kraków.

The Night of the Museums is an ideal occasion, since the early 90’s is currently perceived as the time of the capital’s instantaneous awakening. Warsaw was suddenly populated with numerous advertising agencies, branches of large international corporations, Chinese restaurants and nightclubs such as the legendary Ground Zero. And Darek Pala became a court portraitist of that cafe and clubbing life, illustrating bar scenes and boy girl stories. The real life subject matter, the narrativity, the intuition and the impetus of a colourist, the stylised line (to some extent still rooted in Art Nouveau) – all these features contributed to the making of paintings that were in great demand among the artist’s peers – a young generation of creative, success-oriented egoists, who started their day with a morning coffee in the bar, then popped out for a quick lunch and partied their heads off in the evenings. These paintings are about them.
